Does Western Sydney heat reduce solar output?
Yes, measurably. Panels are rated at a 25°C cell temperature, and output declines as cells run hotter — on a 40°C afternoon a roof-mounted array is operating well above that.
Design compensates: airflow under the array, conservative string sizing for temperature, and inverter placement out of direct sun. It is also why two identical systems in Bondi and Penrith produce differently shaped output curves.
